Steam locomotive heading for Par this Sunday

Steam locomotive 6233 Duchess of Sutherland will be back in steam on the mainline and will be in Plymouth on Sunday 4th August 2019.

The Duchess locomotive is on a special railtour tomorrow. 6233 is hauling ‘The Royal Duchy’ railtour on Sunday.

The train will depart Bristol Temple Meads at approximately 08:47 am.

The railtour will then leave Bristol, bound for Par, where it will make stops at Yatton (09:06), Taunton (09:43), and Exeter St Davids (10:40).

From Exeter St Davids, the 6233 will steam through Dawlish (11:54), Teignmouth (11:57) and Totnes (12:15) before arriving into Plymouth at 12:48.

After a 30 minute break in Plymouth, 6233 Duchess of Sutherland will depart Plymouth at 13:38, it will then steam through Saltash at 13:13:47, Liskeard at 14:05 before arriving at Par at 14:33.

Passengers will then spend a couple of hours in Par, after which 6233 will depart for Bristol Temple Meads at 17:40. The train returns via Liskeard (18:09), Plymouth (18:34), Exeter St Davids (20:12), Taunton (21:19) and Yatton (22:24) before it makes its final destination of Bristol Temple Meads, where it will arrive at 22:44.
