Steam locomotive 70000 Britannia to visit the Bluebell Railway

The has announced that 70000 Britannia will be visiting them for their Giants of Steam gala in October.

The Giants of Steam Gala will take place on the 11th, 12th and 13th October 2019.

This will see 70000 join in with resident locomotives with an intensive timetable in operation across both days.

70000 Britannia visits the Bluebell Railway thanks to Jeremy Hosking / Icons of Steam.

A brief history of 70000 Britannia

70000 Britannia first entered passenger service in 1951. It worked the train services from London to East Anglia and later worked on the West Coast Mainline. Now owned by Icons of Steam, the locomotive is seen on the mainline on various tours in the year.
