Steam locomotive 35028 Clan Line visits the Bluebell Railway

Southern Railway “Merchant Navy” Class No.35028 “Clan Line” has spent the last few days down at the undergoing maintenance work.

Wheel Drop

The (MNLPS) have brought their engine “Clan Line” to the Bluebell Railway, to use the line's wheel drop at Sheffield Park Motive Power Depot.

The was to allow the society to examine and repair if needed 35028's front bogie.

Initially the Merchant Navy would spent two on display visible to the public, but the Bluebell Railway announced “Clan Line” would haul the 2.30pm trains on Tuesday the 27th  as a one-off test run while hauling passengers.

All going to plan, the locomotive leaves on the evening of Wednesday 28th of August to return back home to Stewarts Lane.
