On Wednesday, July 24th, the St Albans Signal Box Preservation Trust unveiled a new board at the city station.
The history board shows information about the station on a timeline.
The board covers 150 years of the station’s history from 1858 to the present day. It shows details of the new lines which were built and new connections made, along with the expansion and rebuilding of the station over the years.
It also shows pictures during the war years, the introduction of new trains and of electrification. There is also a section with information on the signal box museum.
The history board was designed by Mr Les O’Leary one of the trustees, along with help from other trustees of the group.
