The has released an update on the progress on Holy War, which is undergoing its 10-year overhaul.

The locomotive is still undergoing its strip down, but her frames are now painted in a shade of red.

Holy War has had her end stocks removed and rebuilt. New specific bolts have been fitted and her frames have been shot blasted and repainted.

Progress will continue at the Bala Lake Railway, so stick around.

  • I actually had a ride on Holy War’s footplate in 1993 when she was a guest of the Ffestiniog Railway. It was at Boston Lodge. I do have a picture somewhere, but not digital. Great to see that she is still being looked after.

    • Nice people at Bala I had a ride on the foot plate of a hunslett there and was invited into their workshop I was looking at them as I was building a model of the hunslett witch is now finished they helped me a lot hope they continue the good work michael
