Steam locomotive 60163 Tornado heading for Carlisle this Saturday

60163 Tornado will be back on the mainline this Saturday, this time heading a tour to Carlisle.

The tour departs London Kings Cross behind Class 86 86259, and will pass through Potters Bar (08:29), Welwyn Garden City (08:40), Stevenage (08:47), Sandy (09:11), Peterborough (09:32), Grantham (10:15), Newark North Gate (10:24), Retford (10:37) and Doncaster (10:55).

Here Tornado is added to the train, and will depart at 11:34. From here, it will pass through Cross Gates (12:06), Leeds (12:15), Shipley (12:46), Keighley (12:57), Skipton (13:15), Hellifield (13:27), Ribblehead (14:06), Appleby (14:42) and Carlisle at 15:23.

After a couple of hours, Tornado will depart for Newcastle, departing at 17:06, it will pass through Hexham (18:09), Blaydon (18:34), and Newcastle at 18:52.

Here, 86259 will take over from Tornado. Departing at 1922, the train will pass through York (20:18), Retford (21:06), Peterborough (21:55), Stevenage (22:34), Potters Bar (22:52) and London Kings Cross (23:24).
