Residents living in Tackley, Oxfordshire, have been invited by to share their views on the proposed plans for the replacement of a level crossing in the village.

A drop-in event will be held at Tackley Village Hall on Tuesday 16 July, where the proposals can be viewed and residents can put forward their comments and suggestions.

The level crossing is being closed as part of the nationwide level crossing risk reduction programme.

Options for a replacement will be available to view at the drop-in event, however, these are not the final designs and residents, station users and those who access the bridleway are encouraged to submit feedback.

The drop-in event will be held in the main hall of Tackley Village Hall on Tuesday 16 July between 4:30 pm and 7:30 pm. A further event will be held in the autumn after all suggestions have been taken on board and updated proposals drawn up.

What did the officials say?

Lynne Halman, project manager, Network Rail said:

“We are keen to get as much feedback as possible from users of the crossing and local residents to ensure that, before we start the detailed design phase, we have a solution that best meets the needs of the community as a whole.

“Everyone is welcome to come along to the event and I'd urge anyone who wants to know more about our plans to attend. Members of the Network Rail project team will be available to discuss the proposals and answer any questions that you may have.”
