Passengers in Birmingham will be able to discuss this summer's timetable changes at a special event at the Birmingham Snow Hill station this week.

Officials from will be on hand to answer questions during the morning and evening peak on Wednesday 10 July.

The sessions follow the introduction of West Midlands Railway's new timetable in May which introduced new direct services to more destinations.

As well as the Snow Hill session, the ‘Whistle Stop Tour' will also visit Worcestershire later this month:

• Wednesday 10 July – Birmingham Snow Hill – 0730 – 0930 and 1630 – 1815
• Wednesday 17 July – Worcester Foregate St – 1630 – 1830
• Thursday 18 July – Droitwich Spa – 1630 – 1830

What did the officials say?

Richard Brooks, customer experience director for West Midlands Railway, said:

“Our timetable improvements have provided new journey opportunities for passengers but we understand that changing times and carriage formations may mean making adjustments.

“This was the biggest timetable change in the West Midlands for more than a decade and we recognise the importance of listening to our customers and answering their questions.

“We have already taken on board feedback from across the region and I am pleased these ‘Whistle Stop Tour' events will give our passengers another chance to discuss our timetables and services directly with our staff.”

  • The Class 172/0 cascaded from London Overground to be used on services such as Leamington Spa-Nuneaton is a achievement for West Midlands Trains to introduce better reliable trains and to help boost the service. That the Class 172/0 were once used on the Gospel Oak-Barking Line before the line was electrified and Class 378 & Class 710 are operating on the GOBLIN line. With more Class 710 trains due to come into service throughout this year and next year.
