Frame

Inspections of the frame show the rear drag box and buffer beam need to be replaced. The steel for these has been ordered and the wasted parts retained for marking up holes to drill.

Once repaired, the next task is to shot blast, paint and move the frame into the workshop, working towards wheeling the frame.

Smokebox and Coupled Wheels

Contractors have constructed a new smokebox for the Ivatt 2. Stored at Baron Street, the coupled wheels, with re-profiled tyres, await completion of the frame before they can be brought out of store. Also located at Baron Street is the boiler, which will need restoring.
