Steam locomotive 45690 Leander heading for Holyhead this Thursday

Steam locomotive 45690 Leander will be back on the mainline this Thursday as it heads to Holyhead.

Leander is hauling a section of a Steam Dreams Excursion, which originates in London.

Departing London Euston at 06:23, the train will pass through Watford Junction (06:42), Tring (07:00), Milton Keynes Central (07:20), Rugby (08:03), Nuneaton (08:23), Lichfield Trent Valley (08:40), Stafford (09:02) and Crewe (09:24).

At Crewe, 45690 Leander is added to the train.

Departing Crewe at 10:02, the steam train will pass through Chester (10:30), Rhyl (11:14), Llandudno Junction (11:32), Bangor (12:50) and Holyhead at 13:33.

The return journey will see Leander depart Holyhead at 16:05. The train will then pass through Llanfairpwll (16:34), Bangor (16:41), Llandudno Junction (16:59), Chester (18:03) and Crewe at 18:34.

Here, Leander is taken off the train, with the rest of journey completed by heritage diesel or electric traction.

Departing Crewe at 19:10, the train will make its way to London via Stafford (19:33), Lichfield Trent Valley (19:49), Rugby (20:25), Milton Keynes Central (21:03), Watford Junction (21:38) and finally London Euston at 22:01.
