The team have been busy at Tyseley Locomotive Works constructing their new-build Great Western Railway 6800 ‘Grange’ class engine.

Brake Mechanism, Valve Gearing and Cylinders

With 6880 positioned over an inspection pit, members of the working parties could get a good view to assess certain areas.

Firstly, the brake mechanism was checked over. Every component is fitted in place, with just some final adjustments needed before ready for service.

The drain cocks for the cylinders and associated parts have all been fixed in place.

Views from the inspection pit show the valve gearing to be in good order.
