The Waverley Route Heritage Association has released a short update on the work being completed.
After a week of consistent sunshine at Whitrope, the day was full of miserable weather. The on-site volunteers were restricted in what could be done due to the bad weather conditions.
The main task to be undertaken on this day was to shunt the stock from off the running line back into the stock siding.
This was a good chance for the drivers to get used to Pluto and learn some of Pluto's characteristics. The wet weather meant that they had a rare opportunity at Whitrope to see how Pluto handled herself on the wet rails!!
The shunt proceeded as was previously already planned issue free, although all the people that were involved were damp and wet by the end of that day.
At other areas of the site, some on-site volunteers were made to undertake indoor tasks as the afternoon itself became very wet.

Also, What a Perky (and Characteristic) little Diesel-Shunter ”Pluto” truly is.
I believably think … ex-industrial shunters especially like this one (Pluto of course) are full of character and do a good job of a duty shunting and arranging trains within a yard of a Heritage Railway all-round.
Wow, Pluto’s quite a good name for a preserved ex-industrial diesel shunter-locomotive … especially a clever addition to the WRHA’s own fleet of rolling stock.
I know this news article was a little over 2 months ago, But good work to the WRHA lot on one of their latest works up there.
