Steam locomotive 60103 Flying Scotsman set for Mayflower double header this Thursday

This Thursday, 60103 Flying Scotsman will be double heading a stage of a railtour with B1 61306 Mayflower.

The tour is heading for the highlands of Scotland, taking in breathtaking scenery over a number of days.

Departing London Victoria behind a diesel locomotive, the train will pass through West Brompton (09:01), Gospel Oak (09:24), Upper Holloway (09:29), Potters Bar (09:54), Stevenage (10:18), Peterborough (11:11), Newark North Gate (11:57), Doncaster (12:48), and York (13:16).

Here, Mayflower and Flying Scotsman are attached to the train. Departing at 15:42, the two steam locomotives will pass through Thirsk (16:13), Newcastle (17:25), Berwick-upon-Tweed (19:09), Dunbar (20:24), and Edinburgh (21:43).

  • Ot is absolutely wonderful details of this site have been sent by our son. Unfortunately we have missed 60103!! In future we will hopefully get the chance to see some steam charters-from safe vantage points of course. I agree with Ben that people acting irresponsibly are a danger to themselves and others and bring the steam spotting fraternity into disrepute.

  • I don’t believe it to be wise that you’re giving realtime trains links for this railtour considering the mass upset and havoc of sundays Great Britain tour. Giving general timings are okay, but detailed timings I don’t agree with. I don’t want to come across as rude only thinking of the engines amd there crews, also the national network.
