Steam locomotive 45231 The Sherwood Forester in Preston this Friday

45231 The Sherwood Forester is on the mainline this Friday, as it heads to Carlisle.

This light engine movement is in preparation for its role in hauling a stage of a railtour in Carlisle.

Departing Crewe H.S. at 09:02, the locomotive will head via Crewe at 09:39, Winsford (09:51), Warrington Bank Quay (10:08), Wigan North Western (10:34) and Preston (11:11).

From Preston, the locomotive will head via Lancaster (11:37), Oxenholme Lake District (12:46), Penrith North Lakes (13:28), Carlisle and Carlisle High Wapping Sidings at 14:35.
