The Churchward County Trust has announced that the main plates, which form the frame, have been delivered to Goodman Metals for machining.
Machining and Drilling
The Nottingham based firm has been contracted to machine the axlebox spaces and drill up to 200 holes in the steel plates that make the main frame.
Once this work is complete, the plates will travel to Tyseley Locomotive Works, where other frame components such as cross members will join them.
Other work taken on by the company has been the manufacture of both smokebox and smokebox saddle for the new build ‘Hawksworth County' Class 4-6-0s based at Didcot Railway Centre.

This is a project that is unlikely to see operation because by the time it has been constructed in 2033 (their provisional date) the burning of coal will have been banned as a result of action by environmentalists and our useless politicians.
