Network Rail has announced that improvements are coming to Coulsdon South to make it more accessible.
At the station, new lifts will be installed to the platforms and a new footbridge to provide step-free access for the first time by Network Rail. The work is part of the Department for Transport's Access for All programme.
The project is scheduled to be completed by early 2020 after work commenced yesterday (Tuesday 28th May 2019).
The installation is to provide much easier access for passengers with mobility issues, older people and parents with young children.
There will be some spaces within the station car park that will be suspended throughout the entire project.
In addition, when the lift shafts are craned in there will be a couple of temporary full closures of the car park. Passengers will be notified in the station ahead of each temporary full closure of the car park.

Other railway stations in South London that isn’t step free should become step free accessible. But it’s good that Couldsdon South is have step free accessibility with new footbridge+lifts and to replace the old footbridge.
