The Princess Royal Class Locomotive Trust has released an update on 6233 Duchess of Sutherland, which has been having some work done at WCRC Carnforth.

The bogie & bissell wheels have been turned under the supervision of the CME. The PRCLT has thanked West Coast Railways for getting this done as soon as possible.

This week half the workforce has spent a lot of time repairing the boiler, and giving it a washout.

The broken tender spring has also been changed, and a steam test has been completed.

The last job is to weigh the locomotive, but this can only be done on straight and level track, so this will be completed on a later visit.
