Steam locomotive heading to Edinburgh this Tuesday

Day 4 of the Great Britain tour will see a locomotive change, as 6233 Duchess of Sutherland makes way for LMS Black 5 44871 and LNER A4 60009 Union of South Africa.

This 9-day tour will take in some stunning scenery and will see different locomotives haul the train throughout its journey.

Departing Preston at 09:15, the duo will head the tour from Preston, north up the West Coast Mainline via Lancaster (09:37), Carnforth D&U.G.L (09:44), Oxenholme Lake District (10:46), Tebay (11:02), Penrith North Lakes (11:27) and Carlisle at 12:17.

Following around an hour in Carlisle, the tour will then continue north, heading for Edinburgh. They will pass through Beattock (15:12), Kirknewton (16:38), Haymarket (16:52) and finally Edinburgh at 16:59.
