Steam locomotive 1450 unable to attend South Devon Railway Gala

The South Devon Railway has announced that steam locomotive 1450 will no longer be attending their 50th-anniversary gala.

The 50th gala, which is due to be held from the 6th to the 14th April 2019, was set to feature 1450, along with 6430, from the Llangollen Railway, 9466, courtesy of Gwyneth Maude, 1219, courtesy of Ryan Pope, 1501, from the Severn Valley Railway, as well as the home fleet of locomotives of 5526 and 6412.

This cancellation of 1450 is due to a mechanical failure beyond the control of the .

Some changes to the Working Timetable will be made, however, the public timetable will have no changes.

There is a chance that 1450 may make the second weekend of the gala, however, this is not guaranteed, but if the South Devon Railway will be welcoming the locomotive to the railway, an announcement will be made.
