The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway has announced that a Class 47 locomotive will be joining the line up for their upcoming diesel gala.

GBRf has told the that unfortunately, the two Class 73s will no longer be able to attend the gala.

This cancellation is due to the 73s being needed for traffic and engineering works.

GBRf will now, however, be sending one of their Class 47 locomotives, which has been recently liveried and returned to use with the freight company.

The Class 47 joins 41001 (courtesy of the NRM and 125 Group), 50031 ‘Hood' (courtesy of the Class 50 Alliance), 31163 (courtesy of the Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway) and Class 88 (courtesy of Direct Rail Services).

The already confirmed visitors join resident locomotives at the gala, including 25059, 20031, 37075, D0226 ‘Vulcan', 32 ‘Huskisson', 41241, 5820 ‘Big Jim', 78022, 75078 and 43924. A superb lineup!

The timetable for the gala will be announced soon. Have you booked your tickets yet? You can save if you book in advance by clicking here.
