Where and when to see steam locomotive 48151 in Lancashire and Shropshire tomorrow

Steam locomotive 48151 will be back in steam on the mainline and will be in Lancashire and Shropshire on Wednesday 26th March 2019.

The 8F locomotive is hauling an excursion from Preston to Shrewsbury.

The railtour departs Barrow in Furness 08:00 am diesel hauled.

The railtour will then pass through Ulverston (08:18), Carnforth (08:59), Lancaster  (09:14), and arriving into Preston at approximately 09:54 where 48151 will attach to the train ready to head south to Shrewsbury. The locomotive will then head south to Wigan North Western (10:39), Warrington Bank Quay (10:57), Crewe 11:31 and finally Shrewsbury at 13:03.

The return trip will see 48151 depart Shrewsbury at 16:05 and head North to Crewe (16:48), Warrington Bank Quay (17:52), Wigan North Western (18:30), Preston (18:57), Lancaster (19:44), and arriving in to Carnforth Goods Loops at 19:56 where 48151 will be detached from the tour and diesel traction will continue the journey back to Barrow, arriving at 21:43.
