Steam locomotive 60163 Tornado to visit Manchester this Saturday

Steam locomotive 60163 ‘Tornado’ will be back in steam on the mainline and will be in Manchester and Shrewsbury on Saturday 23rd March 2019.

The A1 locomotive is hauling ‘The Bard of Avon’ from Manchester Piccadilly to Stratford-upon-Avon.

The railtour departs Manchester Piccadilly at approximately 07:55 am.

The railtour will then pass through Stockport (08:07), Cheadle Hulme (08:14), Wilmslow (08:20), Holmes Chapel (08:34), Crewe (08:52), Whitchurch (09:12), Shrewsbury (09:32), Telford Central (10:19), Wolverhampton (11:06), Birmingham New Street (11:41), Henley in Arden (12:38) and finally Stratford-upon-Avon at 12:56.

The return trip will see 60163 depart Stratford-upon-Avon at 16:35 and will pass through Tyseley (17:16), Walsall (18:05), Wolverhampton (18:28), Telford Central (19:10), Shrewsbury (19:56), Wrenbury (20:27), Crewe (20:43), Sandbach (21:00), Wilmslow (21:41), Cheadle Hulme (21:51), Stockport (21:56) and Heaton Chapel (22:06).

The railtour will arrive back at its final destination of Manchester Piccadilly at 22:20.
