Steam locomotive 60163 Tornado on the mainline this Sunday

Steam locomotive 60163 Tornado will be back on the mainline this Sunday, 3rd March 2019, and will be heading for Edinburgh.

This is Tornado’s first tour since repair work was completed at the Nene Valley Railway and Barrow Hill.

The train will depart Doncaster, the home of Tornado, at 08:30, and will pass through places like Wakefield Westgate (08:57), Leeds (09:21), York (10:03), Durham (11:30), Berwick-upon-Tweed (13:10), Dunbar (14:24) and Edinburgh (14:55).

The return journey will depart Edinburgh at 17:20 and will pass through Chathill (18:17), Newcastle (18:50), Thirsk (19:39), York (20:07), Leeds (20:42), Wakefield Westgate (21:14) and finally Doncaster at 22:02.

It is excellent to see Tornado back hauling tours once more, a credit to the team at the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust.
