The Clan Project has released an update on some of the recent work taking place on building 72010 Hengist.

Some rework has been necessary at the foundry on the bogie wheels, which is the reason why not much progress has been reported lately in this area.

The group have now reported that all 4 bogie wheels are now through quality control at the foundry and are now ready for delivery to Sheffield.

Having developed the basic casting into the 3D model, the design team have now completed the cannon box model.

The process for this is as follows:

  • Alan converts the British Railways drawings from the 1950s into a 2D model.
  • Keith then takes the 2D models and develops them into a 3D model.

This update shows excellent progress with the society, and we hope to see more like this soon!
