Steam locomotive 60009 Union of South Africa heading for Shalford tomorrow – where and when to see it!

Steam locomotive 60009 Union of South Africa will be back in steam on the mainline and will be in London and Shalford on Saturday 2nd February 2019.

The A4  locomotive is on a special railtour tomorrow. 60009 is hauling ‘The Belmond British Pullman’ railtour on Saturday.

The steam locomotive will depart London Victoria at approximately 12:21 pm.

The railtour will then leave London Victoria, bound for Shalford, where it will steam through Clapham Junction (12:43), Richmond (12:58), Twickenham (13:06), Staines (13:18), Woking (14:04) and Guildford (14:16) before arriving into Shalford at 14:20.

After a 20 minute break in Shalford, 35028 Clan Line will depart at 14:40, it will then steam through Gomshall (14:49) then, the locomotive will steam back to London Victoria non-stop, steaming through South Croydon (15:37), Selhurst (15:41) and Clapham Junction (15:50).

60009 Union of South Africa will make its final destination of London Victoria at 16:05.

  • Is it confirmed information? Because I really would like to go but I’m afraid some snow or whatever can disrupted this route and I don’t want to go and freeze only.
