Steam locomotive 46521 to visit the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway

The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway has announced that 46521 will be visiting the railway in 2019.

46521 will be visiting the railway for their Spring Steam Gala 2019.

The Class 2 is replacing LNER B12 8572, which is unable to attend the event.

This visit of 46521 is thanks to the Loughborough Standards Locomotive Group and Great Central Railway.

46521 joins BR Ivatt 2MT 2-6-2T 41241, BR Standard 4MT 4-6-0 75078, USATC S160 2-8-0 “Big Jim” No.5820, LNWR 0-6-2 ‘Coal Tank' 1054, BR Class 2 2-6-0 78022, LMS Black 5 No.45212 and LMS Jubilee No.45596 Bahamas.

This locomotive was allocated to Oswestry, Brecon and Machynlleth sheds during its working life. The locomotive was a regular sight in Barmouth during the 1950s and 1960s. It worked trains along the Cambrian Coast and the regular shuttles to Dolgellau via the Mawddach Estuary.
