The 6880 Society have released a short update on the work taking place on new build Grange Class – 6880 ‘Betton Grange’.

With the first week of February came another volunteer working party on new build Grange No. 6880 ‘Betton Grange’. Volunteers have been carrying out work on the frames and re-wheeling. The fitting of springs was also carried out on 2nd February.

A major job is now complete on the new build’s boiler with it now been fully riveted and is now just awaiting some new stays before been tubed in the near future.

The staff at Tyseley Locomotive Works have also placed the pistons into the cylinders.

This is exciting times for the loco as she is forever nearing completion.

The staff are putting in lots of effort and are doing the railway community proud in building this loco as it fills a missing gap in the locos that sadly weren’t preserved!

  • I agree with Alistair, it’s as though the report has been translated into Serbo-Croat and back to English.

  • The level of gobbledegook is reaching new heights!

I am not sure whether anyone attempting to read this report can make much sense from it.

I can do a much better job.

What we have here seems to have been thrown together in a sort of abomination of the English language.

Verbs wander off to die, senses are mislead and the rest is pure trash as well as making little sense.

A project that is forever in progress?

Does that imply it will never get there?

Whoever writes this hack ought to be ashamed of themselves./ themself.

The sickening bit is that payment is actually made. Why?

A boycott is called against such badly- written rubbish. It’s like nursing a festering wound that never heals.
