The Churchward County Trust has announced that a second order for steel has been placed.

With thanks to Stephen Davies for sponsoring the order, the steel plates will be used to construct parts of the locomotive's frame.

Sections which will be built using this steel are the front buffer beam, rear wear plate, racking plate and several cross members. Combined with the first order, the Trust will have the majority of frame complete, bar the extension frames.

Work on cutting the plates will start next month at Tata Steel's Wednesfield site.

Once finished, the newly cut sections will make their way to Tyseley Locomotive Works where the erection of the frame will take places.
