Reports in Berlin are suggesting that rail operator DB may be wanting to sell the subsidiary, Arriva.

According to the Reuters website, Deutsche Bahn (DB) is holding a crisis meeting with Transport Minister, Andreas Scheuer, on Tuesday 15th January 2019.

The Handelsblatt newspaper, which was first to report the plan, said that the completed sale of Arriva could raise between 4 billion and 4.5 billion euros.

However, a source said that Arriva was hard to value because of Britain’s plan to leave the EU at the end of March.

DB have yet to comment – if we hear anything, we will let you know!

Currently, Arriva operates Arriva Rail North (Northern), Grand Central, CrossCountry as well a number of other rail companies and bus networks.
