Camping and caravanning along the Ffestiniog Railway

Caravanning is a great way to explore North Wales, and we would really recommend visiting the Ffestiniog Railway if you end up in this beautiful country.

As we head into the new caravanning and camping season, we have drafted together a collection of caravan sites near to the , with the help of a leaflet produced by the Ffestiniog Railway.

If you are wanting to stay in Harlech to explore the surrounding areas as well as the Ffestiniog Railway, then we would really recommend staying at Barcdy Caravan and Camping Park, we have stayed here before and is brilliant for exploring North Wales. It is a short distance from Porthmadog, Minffordd, Penrhyn and Tan-y-bwlch stations allowing you some flexibility of where you would like to board the train.

If you are wanting to stay in Caernarfon or Bangor, then you can't go wrong with Hendy Caravan Park, just a short distance away from the 's Caernarfon station. Click here for more information.

Beddgelert is a quiet and historic village, visit Gelert's Grave, buy ice cream, or hop on a Welsh Highland train. Staying here is excellent, and what makes it even better is that Beddgelert Campsite has its own station for the Welsh Highland Railway. Click here for more information.

Like the mountains and slate caverns of Blaenau Ffestiniog? Then Quarry View Touring Park in Blaenau Ffestiniog is perfect for you.
