Steam locomotive 60103 Flying Scotsman will be back in steam on the mainline and will be on the move tomorrow!

The A3 locomotive is heading to Toton TMD and is being towed by a class 66 diesel locomotive. The locomotive’s tyres are due to be turned using Toton’s wheel lathe.

Starting at Carnforth Steamtown at 10:40, the convoy heads South along the West Coast Mainline to Preston where they are booked to stop for around 23 minutes (12:39 – 13:02) then they venture further South calling at Warrington Bank Quay, Crewe and Stafford before heading through Burton and Castle Donington and then shortly after Toton TMD.

(LMS Black Five 45212 is also down to be heading to Toton at some point next year for tyre turning but more on that when confirmed.)
