THESE Northern trains are cancelled this Sunday

Northern has announced details of cancellations to train services on Sunday 9th December 2018 in the North West.

have chosen the train services to minimise the impact on passengers.

The routes that are most affected are Liverpool, Greater Manchester, and Lancashire.

These cancellations are said to be NOT part of the introduction of the new timetable.

Planned cancellations are as follows:

  • Preston / Colne – Blackpool North / Blackpool South cancellations
    • No trains will run on Sunday.
    • Alternative transport will be provided for Blackpool South services
    • Other services will provide Blackpool North services
  • Manchester Piccadilly – Hazel Grove cancellations
    • An hourly service will start and terminate at Buxton
    • Customers advised to travel on the Buxton train service for Hazel Grove
  • Manchester Victoria – Bolton and Clitheroe cancellations
    • Trains between Manchester – Bolton / Clitheroe will NOT run.
    • Passengers should use alternative services between Manchester Victoria and Bolton.
    • Alternative transport to be provided between Bolton and Clitheroe.
  • Manchester Victoria – Wigan Wallgate via Atherton cancellations
    • Services on this route have been removed.
    • Passengers advised to check before travelling
  • Liverpool Lime Street – Wigan North Western cancellations
    • Use alternative services on the route

Anyone whose journey is delayed by 30 minutes or more can apply for compensation via Delay Repay. Details of which can be found here.

  • As long its to with engineering works taking place. Then its acceptable. Unlike they always cancel services because of strike action.
