The Llangollen Railway have begun their 2018 Santa Train season today, 1st December 2018 as the build-up to Christmas begins.

Special trains steamed through the Dee Valley today from Llangollen to Carrog, specially decorated up as Lapland at this time of year.

The 11 am departure off of Llangollen can be seen above, arriving into Lapland with GWR 2-8-0 No.3802 at the helm of the train.

An hour later saw the second Santa Train of the day arrive into Lapland behind GWR Large Prairie No.5199.

The weather was a bag of mixed fortune, but the sun did shine at points throughout the day in the Dee Valley, providing some wonderful scenes for families on board to enjoy.

There are still some spaces left on Santa Trains, running on selected dates in December. Please click here for more information.
