c2c named most punctual train operator in England

Train operator has announced it has been named the most punctual operator in the UK.

Periodically (four weekly), Network Rail releases the Public Performance Measure (PPM), showing the percentage of trains that ran their entire, calling at all booked stations, and arriving at their destination station on time – within 5 minutes or less for London, South East, and regional services, or within 10 minutes for long distance services.

Over the past four weeks, 95.7% of train services operated by c2c arrived at their destination on time, better than anywhere else in the UK.

Compared to the national average of 80.9%. According to the operator, between Friday 30th November and Monday 3rd December, not one of their trains were late, with 679 services arriving on time.

The national average PPM is 80.9%, compared to the PPM for the same period last year of 84.3%.

c2c Managing Director Julian Drury said:

  • Probably they are. But have you seen the mess on what some passengers have done. Including some being sick on the seats and floors. It’s disgusting. Which is why cleaners are having to clear up the mess and it’s costing £1000s to clean up every bit of what people leave behind that does cost the train operator a fortune.
