The Thompson Park Railway has announced that they have completed track replacement work in time for their Santa Special trains next weekend.
The outer loop track began to be replaced towards the end of the 2018 running season, with the final few running days being covered by two runs of the inner loop.
Now, Santa Specials will now consist of one trip around the whole 1 km (approx 0.5mile) 7.25″ track, with the train stopping for a visit from Santa towards the end of the ride.
Carriages specially named and decorated for the occasion are ready and waiting to be coupled to one of the resident locomotives to haul passengers to see Santa.
Tickets for Santa specials are only £2 per person. NOTE: Super Saver and Day Rover tickets are not valid or available for purchase during the event
Santa Specials run on 1st and 2nd December between 12 pm and 2 pm inclusively.
