The A1 Steam Locomotive Trust has announced that they have taken the decision to withdraw 60163 Tornado for the rest of 2018.

This comes after discussions with DB Cargo, the trusts operator. This will allow the repairs and certification of the locomotive to DB Cargo's satisfaction.

The trust will be advising passengers who are booked on ‘The Christmas Border Raider' on Saturday 1st December, on the arrangement for this train later this week.

The SRPS railtour this Saturday will now be diesel hauled rather than being hauled by Tornado.

Tornado will remain based at the Nene Valley Railway until its loaded test runs.

What did the officials say?

The Trust would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any disappointment and inconvenience caused.
