Greater Anglia has released a list of activities which can help give the kids something to do without breaking the bank this half term.
Catching the train is the perfect way to explore local events and attractions. This also removes the hassle of trying to find a parking space and pay for it.
When travelling by train with children, passengers can obtain a Family and Friends Railcard. With this, up to four adults and four children can enjoy a half-term adventure for less. Adults will receive up to a 1/3 off their fare and save 60% on kids fares.

Magic Moments
Four major locations across the region are hosting a magical celebration of mystery and illusion. The show will be headlined by Charlie Caper and Malin Nilsson's show Minor Miracles and is heading to Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich and Norwich.

Cambridge Film Festival
Visit Cambridge and attend their 38th annual film festival in the centre of the city. With new titles and old, there is an impressively extensive programme to choose from – with family classics such as ‘E.T' and new releases like ‘Colette' being screened across the city. Starting on the 25th of October and running until the 1st November.

Knightzzz At The Museum – 20th October

Cromer Museum
Visit Cromer Museum and see some of the bones from the largest and best-preserved mammoth skeleton in the world. Whilst there visitors can learn more about the history of this part of Norfolk.

Fireworks in Cambridge – 5th November
Head to the heart of Cambridge for the annual Midsummer Common firework display. Featuring a magnificent firework display, enormous bonfire and a crowd of 25,000 spectators, it's not one to be missed. Visit Cambridge from London for just £7 when booking rail tickets in advance.

Crafty Coffee

Brilliant start no trains the start of school half term also at the end of half term. Southend-on-Sea to Shenfield.
Not really because of engineering works taking place and the Wherry Line to close for 6 months because of signalling improvements and to replace the old signalling with new LED signalling.
Plus with overhead wiring works on the GEML and Southend Victoria line.
It would be great to enjoy the half term but the Wherry line is shut for the whole 9 days. A 33 minute journey from Lowestoft to Brundall will be taking 2.5 hours on two different rail replacement buses. By the time we actually get anywhere it will be time to go home!
