Where and when to see steam locomotive 60103 Flying Scotsman in North Wales this Saturday

Steam locomotive 60103 Flying Scotsman will be back in steam on the mainline and will be in Chester and Llandudno Junction on Saturday 22nd August 2018.

The A3 locomotive is on a special railtour tomorrow. Both 60103 is hauling a Pathfinder railtour on Saturday.

The railtour will depart, behind a diesel locomotive, from Swindon at approximately 05:55 am.

The railtour will then leave Swindon, bound for Holyhead, where it will pass through Stroud (06:25), Stonehouse (stop at 06:30), Cheltenham Spa (stop at 06:52) and Bromsgrove (stop at 07:26) before stopping at Birmingham at 08:37 to pick up passengers.

After around 4 minutes, the train will depart Birmingham at 08:41. From here, the train will pass through Tame Bridge Parkway (stop 08:53) and Stafford (stop 09:18) before arriving at its next stop of Crewe at 09:48.

At Crewe, world-famous steam locomotive No.60103 Flying Scotsman is added to train. Departing Crewe, 60103 will steam through Chester (11:05) and Rhyl (11:38) before arriving into Llandudno Junction (11:57) for fuelling.

Departing Llandudno Junction, Flying Scotsman will make its way via Penmaenmawr (12:36) before another stop at Bangor at 12:47. From here, the steam train will make its way via Menai Bridge (12:54), Llanfair P.G. (12:56) and Valley (13:15).

60103 Flying Scotsman will arrive into Holyhead at 13:22.

On the return journey, 60103 Flying Scotsman will depart Holyhead at 16:29 and will head via Valley (16:37), Llanfair P.G. (16:55), Menai Bridge (16:57) before arriving into Bangor at 17:02.

Continuing across the North Wales coast, Flying Scotsman will steam through Penmaenmawr (17:17) before heading to Llandudno Junction for fuelling at 17:26.

After fuelling, Flying Scotsman will head via Colwyn Bay (18:08), Rhyl (18:21), Chester (19:00) and Beeston Castle (19:16) before arriving into Crewe at 19:28.

At Crewe, 60103 Flying Scotsman is taken off the train and is replaced by diesel locomotives for the rest of the journey back to Swindon.

The diesels will head via Stafford (20:30), Tame Bridge Parkway (21:05), Birmingham New Street (21:28), Bromsgrove (21:59), Cheltenham Spa (22:28), Stonehouse (22:49) before arriving into Swindon at 23:26.
