A steam train is set to pass through Blackburn on its special railtour from Carnforth to Carnforth on Saturday 15th September 2018.

The choices for the locomotive hauling the train are 8F 48151, Jubilee 45690 Leander, Merchant Navy 35018 British India Line or Jubilee 45699 Galatea. However, it is yet to be confirmed which locomotive it is. (We have been informed that 48151 is on this tour).

The steam train will depart Carnforth at 12:35 and will head via the West Coast Mainline to Preston, passing through Lancaster (12:45) before arriving into Preston at 13:10.

Heading to Blackburn, where it will arrive at 13:36, the steam train will divert off the East Lancs Line and on to the Clitheroe line. It will stop at Langho at 13:59 before passing through Clitheroe at 14:16.

After Clitheroe, the train will arrive at Hellifield at 14:53 where it will stop for a water stop.

Departing at 15:57, the steam train will make its way to Settle Junction (16:03), before taking the Bentham line back to Carnforth, arriving at 16:47.

Please note that our locomotive allocation can be changed with short notice. It will definitely be a locomotive from the Carnforth pool listed above.
