Dennis Howell, the owner of GWR Large Pannier Tank No.9466, has sadly passed away aged 78.

In the weeks leading up to his death, Dennis had been planning the mainline tours 9466 would haul for the rest of 2018.

Following his passing, friends and The 9466 Group have decided that 9466’s next mainline train will be “Dennis Howell’s memorial train”.

The date chosen for the run is October 20th 2018. At present, the final times have not been confirmed but are scheduled to be:

Outwards

  • Drayton Green – 10.15am (Departure)
  • West Ruislip – 11 am (Departure)
  • Princes Risborough – 12.30pm (Arrival)

Return

  • Princes Risborough – 4 pm (Departure)
  • West Ruislip – 4.45pm (Arrival)
  • Drayton Green – 5.15pm (Arrival)

All profits raised from the tour will be donated to St Luke’s Hospice, where Dennis passed away.

Everyone at RailAdvent would like to pass on our condolences to Dennis’ family and friends at this time.
