The Class 40 Preservation Society have announced that Class 40 locomotive No.40145 will haul trains this weekend at the East Lancashire Railway.

40145 will haul the diesel timetabled trains on Saturday 15th September 2018.

40145 replaces 40012 on the diagram trains, they will NOT double head any trains.

The locomotive was meant to be hauling a railtour between Bury and Carnforth, but these have unfortunately been cancelled due to the short notice of engineering works in the Manchester area.

This is a perfect opportunity to have a ride behind this lovely locomotive. Will you be visiting this weekend?

Trains will be operating between Heywood and Rawtenstall via Bury Bolton Street, Burrs Country Park (for the caravan site), Summerseat, Ramsbottom and Irwell Vale. For the timetable, please click here. 40145 will haul trains marked with a D.
