The West Somerset Railway has announced that BR Standard 4 Tank steam locomotive No.80104 will be visiting the line.
No. 80104 is the final guest to be announced to attend the West Somerset Rai, way's Autumn Gala.
About 80104
Owned by Southern Locomotives Ltd who restored the engine to working order in Spring 1997.
The current boiler ticket expires 2021 and carries BR Lined Black with Late Crest. 80104 is based on the Swanage Railway with other members of the SLL's fleet.
About the Gala
BR Standard 4 Tanks were often seen in Somerset hauling various trains, where from Branch line small passenger trains to larger freight trains. Therefore, the class fits in with the Gala's theme.
Other guest engines include BR Standard 5 No.73082 “Camelot”, Ivatt Class 2 Tank No.41312 and SR West County No.34046 “Braunton” running as No.34052 “Lord Dowding”. Members of the WSR's homefleet will also be running.
