Class 50 at Irwell Vale

The Nene Valley Railway have announced that Class 50 locomotive 50015 Valiant will be visiting them for their Diesel Gala.

50015 Valiant's visit is thanks to the Bury 50015 Group and the East Lancashire Railway.

Valiant will be visiting for the diesel gala, which will be held between the 12th and 14th October 2018.

The plan is to have 50015 Valiant working with sister locomotive 50008, which is a rare event to see two 50s running together.

A brief history of 50015 Valiant

50015 Valiant was built by the Vulcan Foundry in 1968, it had a working life in the south west of England, and was withdrawn from service in 1992 from Plymouth Laira. 50015 was originally bought by Pete Waterman and arrived at Bury in 1992, where she has been ever since!
