Southeastern has announced that a makeover of Shepherds Well station has been completed by a group of local Brownies.

The bare patch of land next to the station has been given a lot of work by the girls, including whimsical fairy toadstools, recycled tyre and wellington boot planters, and a pretty wildflower patch.

The Mayor of Deal attended the official opening of the garden on Wednesday 26th September with Brownies and  employees in attendance.

The 1st Shepherds Well pack has submitted their colourful creation to Britain in Bloom contest.

What did the officials say?

Martin Pickering, Station Staff member at Shepherds Well who has been instrumental in this project, said:

“The Brownies have worked so hard to create a beautiful station garden, it is a real transformation from the patchy grass area that was there before. Our passengers are enjoying the colour and imaginative touches!”
