Where and when to see steam locomotive No.34052 Lord Dowding tomorrow in Reading and Bristol

Steam locomotive No.34052 Lord Dowding will be back in steam on the mainline and will be passing through Reading and Bristol on Thursday 17th May 2018.

The West Country Class locomotive is on a light engine movement. 34046 (as 34052) is moving from the Southall to Bishops Lydeard.

The movement on the national network is to allow the steam locomotive to be in Bishop Lydeard for upcoming railtours.

The locomotive will depart Southall, with diesel as assistance due to the ongoing fire risk steam ban, at 10:40.

The steam locomotive will stop at Acton Mainline at approximately 11:08 for a five-minute break, before heading off to Willesden for turning of the locomotive.

From Willesden, the 34052 Lord Dowding will make another stop at Acton Mainline (12:44) before steaming through Southall (13:16), Slough (13:34), Maidenhead (13:41) and Twyford (13:49) before arriving into Reading at approximately 14:29.

Departing Reading at 14:31, the locomotive will pass through Didcot Parkway (15:05), Swindon (16:05), Bath Spa (16:49) before arriving into Bristol Temple Meads at 17:06.

After a ten minute break, the locomotive will head via Bridgwater (18:26) and Taunton (18:38) before arriving at its final destination of Bishops Lydeard at 18:54.
