Where and when to see a historic steam locomotive in Blackburn and Settle tomorrow

Steam locomotive 45699 Galatea or 48151 will be back in steam on the mainline and will be in and around Preston, Blackburn and Carlisle on Tuesday 7th August 2018.

The locomotive is on a special railtour by Statesman Rail on Tuesday 7th August 2018. 45699 or 48151 is hauling The Fellsman. The tour sees the steam locomotive steam through Preston, Blackburn, Clitheroe and Settle on its way to Carlisle.

The steam locomotive will depart Lancaster at approximately 08:00 am.

The railtour will then leave Lancaster, bound for Carlisle, where it will arrive at 13:04.

The tour will stop at Preston around 08:30 for a 4-minute break, departing at 08:34. 45690 or 48151 will then make stops at Blackburn (08:58), Clitheroe (09:26) and Long Preston (10:50) to pick up passengers.

On the return trip, the steam locomotive will head via Settle and Hellifield to get back to Lancaster, arriving back at 21:38.
