Steam locomotive No.78022 runs for first time following overhaul

The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway has announced that Standard 2 No.78022 has run for the first time since overhaul.

The locomotive completed a run-up Haworth loop as the first time in steam as the overhaul nears completion.

It is hoped that the locomotive will be on passenger services later this year after further tests are completed.

78022 is an ideal locomotive for the KWVR as they have medium power for the railway's medium-sized trains.

This is brilliant to see. We are looking forward to seeing this locomotive back on passenger services hauling trains up the 5-mile line.
