Steam locomotive No.60009 Union of South Africa will be back in steam on the mainline and will be in London and Minehead on Tuesday 21st August 2018.
The A4 locomotive is on a special rail tour from London Victoria to Minehead.
The steam locomotive will depart the London Victoria at approximately 08:45 am.
The railtour will then leave the London Victoria, bound for Minehead, where it will steam through Clapham Junction (09:03), Twickenham (09:20), Staines (stop at 09:33) and Sunningdale (stop at 09:51) before stopping at Reading at 10:31.
After a 10-minute break, the locomotive will depart Reading for Minehead, where it will steam through Newbury (11:26) and will make stops at Frome (12:18). The locomotive will also make a stop at Taunton (13:21).
At Bishops Lydeard, 60009 Union of South Africa will detach from the train and West Somerset Railway resident steam locomotive No.53808 will take the tour to Minehead along the West Somerset Railway.
The steam locomotive will arrive at Minehead at 15:10.
On the return journey, the heritage steam locomotive will haul the train from Minehead on the West Somerset Railway, where it will depart at 17:30 and will then make a stop at Bishops Lydeard to detach and attach 60009 Union of South Africa.
Departing Bishops Lydeard at 18:15, the train will make the same route back to London Victoria. The train will make stops at Taunton (18:29), Newbury (20:31), Reading (21:11) and Ascot (21:44), Staines (22:17) before arriving back into London Victoria at 23:05.
