London Museum of Water and Steam has announced that Liz Power is joining them as their new director.

Liz joins the team from her current position as Head of Museum Learning Programmes at the London Transport Museum.

Liz has also worked previously at the Imperial War Museum, British Empire and Commonwealth Museum and the Science Museum.

Liz will join the Museum on 15th October 2018.

What did the officials say?

Oliver Pearcey, Chair of the Kew Bridge Engines Trust, said:

‘In a very strong field of candidates, Liz stood out in particular for her clear understanding of the issues facing an independent museum with a great reliance on volunteers and having to earn its own living. We are confident that she will bring the expertise, energy and enthusiasm we need for the next stage of our development and will carry on the excellent progress achieved by Clare Grist Taylor as Interim Director.'
