Flushed! Abergavenny satisfaction up 11% since new toilets opened

has announced that customer satisfaction at Abergavenny Railway Station is up 11% since the brand new toilets opened earlier this year.

Station improvements were completed in May 2018 and consisted of a range of improvements to toilets and a refurbished disabled toilet

The £56,000 scheme was funded by the National Station Improvement Programme and delivered by Arriva Trains Wales' Projects team.

The work included:

  • Repaint throughout; including all woodwork, frames, doors and ceilings.
  • New ceramic floor and wall tiles
  • New LED light fittings and PIR sensors
  • New sanitaryware, toilets, hand basins and urinals
  • New hand dryers
  • New fan heaters
  • New instantaneous water heaters
  • New mirrors

Abergavenny is used by approximately 425,800 people every year.

Abergavenny Station Manager Samantha Edgerton said:

“We're over the moon at how this work has transformed the customer experience at Abergavenny. The new toilets are bigger and much more accessible and we know how important it is to have good quality facilities available, especially when starting out on a long journey. It's great that we've been able to secure investment in Abergavenny and we're committed to keeping it a welcoming an friendly station for all our customers.”
